Mrs. Read is entering her 28th year in education having served Christian schools in Georgia, Tennessee, and California before joining the Tabernacle staff as Director of Academics in 2025. Her experience includes teaching a range of high school and elementary subjects, mentoring students as an academic advisor, and leading as a high school dean. During her career, Mrs. Read has developed curriculum programs, coordinated student activities, and implemented academic support initiatives aimed at boosting student achievement. She is known for fostering a positive school culture, strengthening student-teacher relationships, and guiding families through important educational decisions. Guided by Jude 22—“Have compassion and make a difference”—her dedication has left a lasting impact on both students and colleagues.
Carla has been married to Tabernacle Administrator Trevor Read since 1996, they have three adult children: Mark, a US Army National Guard Combat Medic and Fireman/EMT; Jake, an educator and football coach; and Allie, a college senior.
